7 Steps To Becoming More Self Aware

Self awareness is a key component of our own personal growth and evolution.


Here are 7 traits to becoming more self aware

1. Look at yourself objectively

Remove the emotion and feelings and just look at the facts.


2. Journalling

Take time to journal, if you're not good at free writing some journalling prompts may be: what's on my mind, what do I need right now, how can I look at this differently?


3. Write down your goals, plans, and priorities

Writing down your goals makes you 42% more likely to achieve them. Write down your goals and what behaviours and actions you need to take to get there.


4. Perform regular self-reflection

Take a moment to consider - What am I doing well, Where am I not doing well and Where can I improve?


5. Practice meditation and other mindfulness habits

Mediation apps like Calm are great to guide you though a quick meditation but even simply practicing being more mindful and present works too, what can you see, hear and feel in THIS moment?


6. Ask trusted friends to describe you and your strengths

Sometimes we cannot see our own strengths and a close friend may be able to reveal what they see of us, which in turn can help us see ourselves differently.


7. Ask For Feedback

Feedback is essential for us to grow and progress, being open to asking for and receiving feedback can help us to continually evolve and improve.
